LEWISTON, ID- The 11th annual Avista holiday tournament kicked off with four games earlier today, two boys and two girls games.
The Grangeville Bulldogs edged out the Lewiston Bengals 54-52, despite a massive Lewiston comeback in the second half. Mattie Thacker delivered the go ahead bucket to put the Bulldogs in the winners bracket.
In the boys bracket, the Lewiston Bengals dominated the Kendrick Tigers 61-42. The Bengals move on into the winner's bracket tomorrow.
The Moscow girls basketball team beat Pendleton 54-33 behind the efforts of Maya Anderson. The Bears will face the Grangeville Bulldogs on Friday. The Moscow Bears also came up victorious against Pendleton, with a 55-50 win.
The Downey Vikings downed the Lapwai girls basketball team 51-17.
The Clarkston girls basketball team beat the Grangeville Bulldogs 72-32 in the championship game. The Bantams remain undefeated with a perfect 9-0 record. The Lewiston Bengals boys basketball team downed Rocky Mountain 55-39 to win the Avista holiday tournament.
