Babies "R" Us might soon be coming to a Kohl's near you.

Kohl's and its owner WHP Global announced "a new strategic partnership," with plans to open Babies "R” Us stores in about 200 Kohl's locations in the U.S.

Evolving our assortment and bringing more relevant product to the millions of customers we serve is a core focus as we continue to deliver on Kohl’s broader growth strategy,” Tom Kingsbury, who is Kohl’s chief executive officer, said in a news release issued Tuesday.

We see significant opportunity in the baby gear category, and partnering with Babies 'R' Us is another example of how we are finding new ways to optimize our assortment and further establish Kohl’s as the go-to brand for families," Kingsbury added.

The release noted the first Babies “R” Us shops will open in Kohl’s starting in August. Then, they plan to open at approximately 200 stores in fall 2024.

The stores will feature "everything families need for their little ones," according to the release.

The Babies 'R' Us shops inside Kohl's will range from 750 - 2,500 square feet of dedicated space inclusive of baby gear, activity, bath, furniture, feeding, and safety products," the release noted, adding that the space will complement Kohl’s existing assortment of baby apparel. "In addition to the great brands Kohl’s currently offers including Graco, Chicco, Boppy, Skip Hop, Delta Children, Fisher-Price, and Carter’s, the retailer will add many new family-favorite brands that will make Kohl’s the destination for the baby category."

Customers will also be able to shop for Babies 'R' Us products on Kohls.com, as well as use Kohl’s registry to easily build and share gift lists. As of Tuesday, some products were available online.

The goal, the release noted, is to reach more new customers, including younger clinentel.

Babies "R" Us will be an addition to Sephora at Kohl’s, as well as the company’s "newly refreshed" home department.

It was not immediately known which Kohl's locations will include Babies "R" Us stores.

Babies "R" Us started closing stores across the nation in 2018 after Toys "R" Us filed for bankruptcy. WHP Global acquired Babies "R" Us and Toys "R" Us in 2021.
