LEWISTON, ID - Construction on 21st Street will start again on Wednesday with the reconstruction of pedestrian ramps and sidewalk infill.
Before phase two kicks off, survey crews began at the roadway and sidewalks on Monday and Tuesday.
"Crews are out there staking the ground identifying locations as to where elements are going to go," City of Lewiston Public Information Officer Carol Maurer said.
Construction will start on the West side of the road at 8th street and make its way South to 18th Street.
Once construction on the West side is complete, crews will begin work on the East side of 21st.
During this time and depending on what side of 21st construction will be happening, drivers can expect sides of the road to be narrowed down to one lane.
For those using the sidewalks, there will be signs to let you know where you can go.
Reconstruction of the pedestrian ramps and sidewalk infill is expected to be completed in May.
After finishing, crews will install the Fiberseal.
"It's an important street preservation project that is going to enhance the life of that area for the next 10 years," Carol Maurer said.
