LEWISTON, Idaho – When Linda Allen's grandson was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, she knew she wanted to do more to support him and other children across the country facing this disease.

So, she contacted a representative from the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

From there she requested shamrocks.

So far, through going door to door, she has singlehandedly gotten 11 more businesses, including Perfection Tire in Lewiston to participate in the shamrock fundraiser.

When Linda approached the folks at Perfection Tire, it was a no-brainer for them and owner Joshua Clare.

"When she asked if we would be willing to be a place people could donate and support MDA, it was an easy yes for us," Clare wrote.

Linda has one stack of shamrocks left.

This shows two things, the community support to this point, and there is still a chance for more interested businesses in our area to get involved.

The proceeds from shamrocks not only go towards pushing care forward and making more resources available for research.

It is also meant to support patients and their families.

Across all of those locations, the shamrocks will be out through St. Patrick's Day, next Sunday, March 17.

The businesses Linda connected with for this initiative are as follows:

-Rosauers

-The Wrangler

-Rick’s Family Foods

-Lancer Lanes

-Strike & Spare

-Orchards Lanes

-Rooster’s

-KC Burgers

-The Tap Room

-OneStop Vape

-Perfection Tire
