LEWISTON, ID- The high school state basketball tournament wrapped up over the weekend. The Lapwai Wildcats got their revenge game against Lakeside. The Kendrick Tigers went up against the Camas County Mushers.

Lakeside ended Lapwai's 63 game winning streak one year ago, and the two teams meet yet again. The players, fans, and community wouldn't want it any other way.

The Wildcats led the entire game. Kase Wynott erupted for a game high 46 points. The Utah State committ finished the state tournament with 109 points and 33 rebounds.

The Wildcats beat Lakeside 67-54 to get their sweet revenge on the Knights. It's their third title in the last four years. Their 13th overall state title is tied with Borah for the most of any boys program.

Wynott expressed what this win means to him, especially after last year's outcome.

"It meant everything to me. Ever since that loss, I thought about it every single day. We wanted Lakeside, we didn't want Potlatch to beat them. "

"We wanted Lakeside, and that was the message the entire year. Lakeside, we thought about it and getting ready for them. Now that we came out and smacked them in the mouth, we're super happy," Wynott said.

"It means a lot. Lapwai, we leave and breathe basketball. Every time we win a state championship, we have a big parade and a big one waiting for us. It's awesome, 13 is a lot."

The Kendrick Tigers were seeking back to back state titles. Back in November, Kendrick beat Camas County in football. This time, the Mushers had their number.

The Tigers struggled offensively, scoring just 13 points in the first half.

Their quest for their 11th state title fell short to Camas County, with a final score of 56-42.
