LEWISTON, ID- The LC State men's basketball team led from start to finish against Eastern Oregon. The 74-69 win advanced them to the semifinal round against Oregon Tech.
"We're at our best when we have three guys in double figures. That's been our recipe for success, so that says a lot about our unselfishness," said head coach Austin Johnson.
In a total team effort, five warriors ended in double figures. Alton Hamilton, Sam Stockton, and Jaedyn Bradley each scored 13 points.
Hamilton nearly posted a double double, adding nine rebounds.
"I can go into these games with confidence no matter what they throw at me. Whether it's me going one on one with somebody, or facing a double looking for my teammates, I trust my teammates that they'll be where they need to be," Hamilton said.
John Lustig has 12 points, and Davion brown added 11. Both Brown and Lustig hit clutch three pointers down the stretch.
"Big time players making big plays in big moments. No one's shying from it," Stockton said.
"It's nice with the team we have some really impressive scorers. That frees a lot of things up for me, especially as the main ball handler."
The Warriors earned home court advantage and the number two seed. As a result, Oregon Tech will make the 8 hour trek to take on LC state this Saturday.
"That's a long trip, one that we just made and that we don't want to make again. That end of the season run was huge," Stockton said.
