LEWISTON, ID- The LC State Warriors beat the College of Idaho 78-57. They advance to the semifinals against Oregon Tech on Friday.
It was a back and forth game the first three quarters of play. With 10 minutes to go, the game was all tied up at 49.
Then, the Warriors exploded for a 29-8 fourth quarter. Callie Stevens scored 22 points, had seven assists and four steals. Ellie Sander had 19 points, four assists, and two steals.
"Our coach loves to say that defense leads to offense. That's obviously what happened, we got our transition going. Ellie had great blocks, great tips, we did a great job sharing the ball and finding each other," Stevens said.
"I've been going through a little shooting slump, so after I hit that first three and two more after that, it was an amazing feeling," Sander said.
The Warriors are now hoping to avenge their road loss against Oregon Tech from February 23rd.
"It fuels us a lot. We're ready to go back down, we're excited, we're playing warrior basketball. Getting a second chance, not many teams get to do that and we get to do that next weekend. We're excited," Sander said.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
