It's no secret the Clarkston girls basketball team is used to winning.
Jaelyn joined the team this season along with her sister Jordyn. The sisters moved from Lapwai to the LC Valley for a better opportunity.
"Playing here in Clarkston is really fun, it's so competitive,” McCormack-Marks said. “Coach Debbie gets high school teams to play us, and it makes us better players all around with any position we want to play."
The choice has paid off. The team has been clicking in every facet, as the Bantams are off to a 6-0 start.
"The communication and chemistry is good. That's all how we become one team, and not individuals”
“Even if we have bad shots, we still want us to encourage each other to shoot our shots and if they don't go in, just keep shooting."
Even after team practice, the sophomore point guard continues to focus on her shooting, striving to get better every single day.
"I think it's improved, better than how it was last year. Every summer, I would travel with my Under Armour team, the Northwest Blazers and get better as a player myself."
Coach Sobotta has also helped take her play to the next level. The sophomore point guard has a 5 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.
She takes care of the ball, values creating shots for others, and is extremely efficient on the court.
"She's helped us a lot. She makes us get in shape, makes us do everything we can, and really makes us better every day in practice."
She credits her consistency on the court to her family.
"Since I was little, they always told me to be the very best that I could be. Even my Auntie Jackie, she'll come down for a day or two and help me out with my work."
