PULLMAN, WA- To say that Washington State got their revenge game against the Cal Bears might just be an understatement.
Five Cougs scored in double figures in their dominant 84-65 win. The dynamic duo of Myles Rice and Isaac Jones guided the Cougs to their 19th win on the season.
The two players combined for 46 points. Jaylen wells and Andrej Jakimovski had 12 points respectively, and Rueben Chinyelu added 10 points.
The total team effort pushes the Cougs to a six game winning streak.
"Everybody's work is paying off. I say it all the time that guys one through 15 for us can go. Everyone is a competitor, and everyone plays with a chip on their shoulder," Jones said.
Despite winning 10 out of their last 11 games, the Cougs continue to have that underdog mentality,
"Deep down, people don't think that we still belong out here. We're showing that we can compete with the best, and that we can go out there and do what we need to do each every night, and we're going to continue to do it," Rice said.
The Cougs are having a magical season. It's the first time since the 1944-45 season that WSU has posted a 9-1 record through 10 conference games.
With all the success and march madness attention, the Cougs are sticking to their routine.
"We're getting a little bit of attention because we're on the brink of doing something that hasn't been done in a long time. We can't worry about that though, we can only worry about what's in front of us, and I think that's what we do each and every day."
"As soon as this game is finished, we're already talking about the next one, and trying to lock in on that game. We think about who we're playing, how we're going to affect the game, and just winning."
Washington State is back in Beasley Coliseum taking on the Stanford cardinal on Saturday.
